Our Style

 

We at Tacoma Pie strive to create a unique pizza experience for you.  We have worked long and hard to create something that is familiar yet our own.  We hope to satisfy all cravings for something both reminiscent of your childhood or family gatherings and a brand new experience that tantalizes and delivers exactly what most people love about pizza. 

We have been inspired by Tony’s pizza and Goldenboy in San Francisco and John Arena’s joint in Vegas Metro pizza.  Our pies are a mash up of many styles;  namely Sicilian, Grandma, and Detroit Styles.  

The things that make us unique are a long slow fermentation to develop amazing dough flavor.   We also have a fairly complex sauce that packs a punch.   Mild sauce is available upon request.   All of our pizzas have the characteristic “Frico” (burnt cheese) edges that define Detroit style. The crispy toasted crust is key to the enjoyment of our pies.  We prefer to serve our pizzas uncut.   Though not totally necessary , they are even more amazing when crisped up at home in your oven, air fryer, stove top, or toaster oven.  We will be more than happy to cut it for you so you can eat it right away.

Our pizza is extremely safe, as it is cooked in a 500 degree oven and is never touched by human hands before being sealed in the box.  

We strive to accommodate all dietary needs.   We provide dairy free cheese.   We are currently working on developing a gluten free recipe (stay tuned for that development). If there are any toppings you wish we had, don’t hesitate to reach out to us and we will try to provide those in the future.
